Message from President Massimo Bezzi in occasion of Ascen Tec opening
This year, after more than a decade, a new, fully specialized exhibition entirely dedicated to lift technologies will take place in Athens, between the 10th and the 12th of May. As President of EFESME, the European Federation for Elevator Small and Medium-sized Enterprises, I could not be more pleased. For us, as a Federation representing SMEs’ voice in Europe, the existence of such an exhibition is a source of satisfaction and optimism for the future, and proof of our commitment in the field. Here specifically, the participation of our Greek member, POVESA, the Panhellenic Federation of Elevator Manufacturers, Installation and Maintenance Experts, is a valid testimony of our activities – we are glad to be represented and we are confident of the success of this important event.
Such an exhibition, aiming to bring together different economic actors in the sector, will be the perfect occasion to exchange information, best practices, and solutions in a sector that is constantly evolving, that is alive, dynamic, and daily set before new challenges to keep up with a market always prone to change and innovation.
As we all know, numerous challenges await the elevator industry and demand our full attention and efforts every day. New type of plants, the digital age and what it implies; the guarantee of the safety of the installations, be they old or new; the quality of our products and the quality of the services we offer; the difficulties still present in a market that is rising its head after the crisis. All these challenges require technical preparation, flexibility, and open-mindedness on the part of our sector, to adapt, and to be able to find solutions that can best enable us to move forward in our work to the maximum of our abilities.
All this requires us to be ready to embrace innovations and new technologies, to be able to keep up with the fast and frequent technological and technical changes in the elevator sector.
I believe this first edition of Ascen Tec, with its aim to be a forum to connect companies, professionals, and institutions, with its wide range of participants and events, has the potential to be an hub in which we can all discuss our points of view and our strengths, and where we can connect with other actors to find common paths and solutions.
It is now up to us, as market participants and industry players, to make the most of this opportunity and to give the best possible thrust to our activities, to our commitment, and to our future.
I am sure that all the participants and guests will find this Exhibition useful and interesting, and that they will be able to make the most of the occasion.
My best wishes,
Massimo Bezzi
EFESME President
