PROMETHEUS ECO RACING is the student research team of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), dedicated to the design, development and construction of highly energy-efficient electric vehicles.
Founded in 2008, the team has since participated in the international Shell Eco-marathon competition, developing four fully electric racing vehicles.
The team brings together students from different engineering disciplines, working collaboratively in areas such as electric powertrains, electronics, aerodynamics, mechanical design, composite materials, software and telemetry.
In 2025, PROMETHEUS ECO RACING achieved 1st place in both the Technical Innovation and Communications Awards, 2nd place in the Data & Telemetry Award, and 3rd place in the Autonomous Urban Concept category. In 2026, the team further strengthened its track record by winning 1st place in the Vehicle Design Award. Through continuous research, innovation and hands-on engineering, the team aims to advance sustainable mobility.
